This morning on NPR there was an interview with Peter Gabriel, who has finally released another pop studio album.

When we were in high school, Gabriel was our favorite artist. We obsessed. Chris even hand-drew a copy of the cover of Gabriel’s third album (“Melt”) on poster board. Even though I don’t really obsess about him, I still respect him a lot, and it’s great to see him coming back into the spotlight.

note: The working title for my weblog comes from a Gabriel song from that “melt” album; it’s something I’ve been using for intermittent self-publishing efforts since those obsessive high school days… The interval since the last issue of Through the Wire is longer than the time since Gabriel’s last studio pop album!
