Cool: The MTAmazon plugin, which makes it easy to reference books and other things sold on Amazon.com in a Movable Type based weblog (to which I’ve just switched.)

Not Cool: Amazon’s de facto status as a universal catalog, despite their mixed success in stocking independent books and music. One of the titles I wanted to place in my “Current Rotation” section is “In Our Times,” the latest album by the jazz group School Days. I had to dig around a bit to manually include it in the list, since Amazon doesn’t carry the record, but it’s worth it, because it’s really a great CD.
