On Sunday night we had a classic only-in-the-summer dinner. We had recently harvested red leaf lettuce and arugula from our porch container garden. We picked up some asparagus and speckled bibb lettuce at the Evanston Farmer’s Market. (We got the lettuce from Henry’s Farm, who always have incredible greens.) We got some decent tuna steaks at the grocery store and grilled them up. Voila, grilled tuna salad. It was awesome. Jennifer added the secret ingredient, cilantro. As far as I’m concerned, nearly everything is made better with cilantro.
Yesterday when I got home I found that someone had stolen our grill. So much for summer pleasures. Well, we’ll actually probably have to pick up another fairly soon, since we’ve already invited people over for a barbecue this weekend. I guess that’s life in the city, as they say.
