Yahoo IM at it again

As noted by chipx86, Yahoo has once again mucked up third-party IM clients. It continues to boggle my mind that there is no motion towards a single IM standard. I mean, not only to the single-service IM clients just suck, but also, who wants to have several different apps running that all do about the same thing? I’ll admit that my MSN and Jabber accounts are mostly for show, but I have daily chats with people on both Yahoo and AIM and it’s annoying to have two clients at once.
Speaking of clients, I’ve been stable on Adium for a while and pretty happy with it. At first the ducks drove me crazy, but the overall look of the app is elegant (so much nicer to look at than Fire) and once I got used to tabbed IM windows, I couldn’t go back.
Jabber seems like it has so much potential, but no-one I IM with uses it.
