WNUR Jazz Show, September 15 2004

Whoops, I guess I’d better post last weeks playlist before I “lap” myself — this week I’m back on Thursday (tomorrow). Scott wasn’t able to come, and since he’s been scheduled for alternating Tuesdays starting next week. I’m happy to have been “renewed” myself for the fall season, staying on in the same time slot.
Last week’s show is a little vague now. Yes, that is a cover of Suzanne Vega’s “Tom’s Diner,” rendered by Ivo Perelman (not cheesy at all) from a nice disc which features mixed groups but includes on most tracks Andrew Cyrille on drums and Fred Hopkins on bass, and Don Pullen shows up a few times as well. I also made sure to play a track from Ken Butler, whose show I mentioned last week.
I’m still loving that Sean Bergin/Ernst Reijseger duet album Mistakes too.
