WNUR Jazz Show, 7 October 2004

I was teased by the “Don Cherry featuring Ornette Coleman and Steve Lacy” disc, which turned out to be just a collection of music from other albums. Still good music, but I thought it was something other than it turned out to be.
I don’t know the story behind it, but I was curious to find the Black Saint album “From Bad to Badder”, which pairs Ellis Marsalis with Edward Blackwell and Alvin Batiste (among others). It didn’t bowl me over, but I wasn’t embarassed to have played it.
