Minor iPod/iTunes annoyance

Today I decided that I felt like listening to my iPod at work instead of iTunes. One of the main reasons I don’t usually do this is that it interferes with my ability to hear interface sounds from my MacBook.

If I recall correctly, when I had my iPod set to “manually manage music,” I was able to listen to the iPod through iTunes. But I don’t want to manually manage my music.

Why should that feature not apply when I use “sync selected playlists” to load my iPod instead?

So for today, if you IM me and I don’t respond, it may be that I missed the audio cue. Hopefully Growl‘s got my back.
