Conference of the Birds, 2008-11-25

“Conference of the Birds” is my weekly radio program onWNUR-FM. I realized when I mentioned on air that people should google to find these archives that I had been failing in my SEO so let’s be clear.  It airs on Tuesdays from 5-7:30 am Chicago time (UTC-6). And, of course, when technology cooperates, you can just come here for the archives.

As I mentioned on the air this week, I was excited to find that eMusic has recently added over 500 titles from the Black Saint/Soul Note family of labels. It’s a bonanza, especially since my downloads just refreshed.  So I played several tracks from things I just downloaded.  I also had to dip into some Original Music titles since I had spent last night doing a little digital music library maintenance and particularly had made a playlist of all the OM titles I have.  I also stumbled onto some interesting vinyl while poking around the library, particularly the John Lindberg and Bob Moses records.

I actually pulled nearly an hour of bonus time since Lauren was a little late, but the archiving process didn’t know and stopped at the usual time. There’s still plenty here to enjoy!
