WNUR Conference of the Birds, 2010-02-16

“Conference of the Birds” is my weekly radio program on WNUR-FM. It airs on Tuesdays from 5-7:30 am Chicago time (UTC-6). And, of course, when technology cooperates, you can just come here for the archives.

Most of today’s show was music from our new and reissues collection. Keep an ear open for the always-wonderful diddley-bo playing of Cooper-Moore on the tune from the Darius Jones Trio.

Also, of course, it was Mardi Gras. A couple of years ago I did a full program of thematic music, but this year I was out of town until about four hours before the show, and I was only able to pull together about half an hours worth of (mostly) classics which you’ll hear at the end of the show.
