WNUR Conference of the Birds, 2010-04-20

“Conference of the Birds” is my weekly radio program on WNUR-FM. It airs on Tuesdays from 5-7:30 am Chicago time (UTC-6). And, of course, when technology cooperates, you can just come here for the archives.

Well, here was a week when the archiving failed–I knew it would, because my Comcast cable internet service was out for three days and the archiver runs on my home system.  Ah well, now that I’ve gotten my passive-aggressive dig in against a major corporation, which could care less, enjoy the playlist in your mind.

WNUR Conference of the Birds, 2010-04-13

“Conference of the Birds” is my weekly radio program on WNUR-FM. It airs on Tuesdays from 5-7:30 am Chicago time (UTC-6). And, of course, when technology cooperates, you can just come here for the archives.

During today’s show I mentioned that Ñico Saquito always reminds me of my friend and former WNUR colleague Shane Graham. I encourage CotB listeners to check out his new radio show on Utah Public Radio called Radio Cosmopolis.

I also mentioned that Herculaneum is playing a show soon, and now I realize that they are part of the Clean Feed Fest 2010 at the Hideout in May.  The Now Is calendar lists two more festival events at the Chicago Cultural Center, and there are probably others, although I haven’t found a single centralized listing. In any case, Clean Feed is a great label and a festival of their artists is likely to be excellent.

Also, for a change of pace, I left the beginning of Charlie’s show in the archive for the ten minutes or so which were recorded before it’s automatic shut-off. Why not?
