WNUR Conference of the Birds, 2010-06-22

“Conference of the Birds” is my weekly radio program on WNUR-FM. It airs on Tuesdays from 5-7:30 am Chicago time (UTC-5). And, of course, when technology cooperates, you can just come here for the archives.

I wasn’t entirely sure that I was feelin’ this week’s show, but the um-dois punch of Gilberto Gil & Jorge Ben followed by Curumin led someone to pull over the car and call in to find out what they’d just heard, so that’s cool.

Two songs this week were played in honor and memory of Aaron Dodd, “the tuba player of Michigan Avenue,” who passed away last week.

Also, Fred Anderson remains gravely ill in the hospital.  We’re pullin’ for you, Fred!
