WNUR Conference of the Birds, 2010-08-17

“Conference of the Birds” is my weekly radio program on WNUR-FM. It airs on Tuesdays from 5-7:30 am Chicago time (UTC-5). And, of course, when technology cooperates, you can just come here for the archives.

This week we have three rather different takes on the gospel/civil rights classic “This Little Light of Mine,” and, in the latter half of the show, an exploration of WNUR’s new music drawer, including several really promising releases from local jazz artists including trombonist Jeb Bishop’s newest trio CD and one from drummer Tim Daisy’s “Vox Arcana” project.  Enjoy!

(and while you’re at it, enjoy a “bonus” track from Eric Dolphy, with which Stephen began his show. )
